Hi, Ive just found out I'm 5wjs 6days pregnant. The last day of my last period was April 8th & I slept with my partner (at the time) on the 9th a couple of times but 2 weeks later, on the 22nd I slept with someone else. Silly thing I know, but who would more likely be the father? Are the scan dates usually accurate

No scan will tell who the father is accurately only a DNA test will. From your dates I'm sorry to say it's more likely to be the other guys as you tend to ovulate c. 2weeks after your period.

I probably worded that wrong but I meant are the dates they give you off a scan usually accurate. So would you say its the one from the 22nd? I'm hearing mixed things from people, some saying you ovulate before a period & some saying after but I would have said after as well

You ovulate before and after as its a cycle but if u have a period that means you're not pregnant hence its the ovulation after that matters. Scans are pretty good at getting the dates right, but still you can't rely 100% on the scan as 2 weeks is very close.

Thankyou. Finished my period a day before I slept with my ex on the 9th then 2 weeks later on the 22nd someone else so I think it will be the ex partners.

Beware tho that scan date are calculated from your last period not from ovulation, conception is the scan date minus around two weeks

Pregnancy is taken from the first day of your last period. You normally ovulate 12-14 days after this day. Where did you get that your 5weeks 6 days from?

I went for a scan this afternoon & that's how far she said I am. I explained my situation & asked for her opinion on who the father could be but she said she "couldn't comment"

Hmmm, do you know what the first day of your period was? I think the scans are pretty accurate for dates though

I think it was around the 3rd 4th of April, I know I definitely finished on the 8th. It's my own fault for getting myself in this situation but it would just be so much better/easier if the 2nd man I went with was the dad

I'm honestly not too sure, I think you will need to let them both know and then possibly at the 12 week scan the dates might add up a bit better

I think the 12 week scan will be more accurate. This is the scan they normally use for dating purposes. To me, it sounds like it's more likely to be the second man, you slept with your ex very close to end of your period and it's possible you could have ovulated later than 14 days. But you won't know for sure unless you take a dna test and check dates at 12 week scan. Hope it works out ok for you whatever the outcome.

Ej_25 It's most likely the partner you had at the time. If your cycles are usually 28 days then you would be fertile around 14th day after First day of your last period. If you slept with your ex after your period, his sparm can last inside you up to a week and fertilise your egg when you ovulate. (when I got pregnant I had sex on day 10 but had my ovulation early at day 12 and around that time I got pregnant). Once your egg is fertilised (if not - it only lasts for like 24 hrs) you can't get pregnant at later date (therefore 22 nd would be too late to get pregnant unless your cycles are very irregular or you get period every 30+ days). Of course there could be other things going into play but I'd think 99% it's your ex's child

The baby' Dad could be either men as the times are close. When baby arrives you will need to do a DNA test. Any speculation and guess work is wrong. This will be someone' s future, I mean the baby and the least you can do is be truthful at least to the baby so they will know their true lineage and background. As human beings we all make mistakes but the important thing is to learn from it. Anyone who is never made a mistake has not lived, does not exist. You are doing the right thing asking for opinions but no one can tell you the exact correct 100% answer to your question.
