It can be normal because sometimes your ovulation dates will not be exactly 2 weeks after your last period. So maybe you're not as far along as you think. Did they say what dates the sac was measuring? The next scan will confirm what's going on as you should see some development by then if all is well.
As for an internal scan, this is normal for early scans. They won't do abdominal scans until closer to 12 weeks.
Hiya!
As far as I know it's completely normal! I had an internal scan at just under 6 weeks and only a sac was present because it was so early on - I had to go back again a week or two later, the same as you, by which time things had developed a bit more and they were able to give me a better idea of how far along I was etc. I wouldn't be worried at all, all babies start of as a small bundle of cells like that! Did they do a blood test to measure your hormone levels?
Try not to stress! Xx
Hi,
No they didn't do any blood test... Just did the scan.I have one fibroid too but outside the womb.
which they saw in scan.is it dangerous?
Many thanks
Hello I think this is normal as I had a scan on Wednesday when I should have been 5 +4 but at the scan they said I was only 4 weeks as they can only see a sac. I had bloods done and another set done 2 days later and that did show my hormones are rising normally. So try not too panic too much, your little one is super teeny and is quite hard to see at this stage x
I had the same thing. I had to have an internal scan and the first time there was only a sec present, I returned two weeks later and there was a little smidge with a heartbeat - little smidge is now 4 and a half months old, so stay positive! Wishing you both well x
This is why in my clinic they don't do any US before 8 weeks because then it is definite so if there are heart beats it's fine if not then it most probobly mean there is a problem. As the other ladies said I wouldn't be too worried at only 6 weeks although I know it's probably very hard not to be worried
