Hi, from my experience, I had trapped wind up to about 12 weeks. It does ease a bit! If you are unsure of anything, just ring your local midwife unit, that's what they are there for. 😊 every bodies digestive system is different but eating lots of melon seemed to help me. Check with your doctor before taking any medicine for it, as there are so many drugs that haven't been tested for pregnancy. 😊 x

Hi Hun, congratulations!

I got bloated to, and I'm pretty sure it's all to do with those pregnancy hormones (they get blamed for a lot lol). They slow your digestive system down a bit. I suffered bloating for a while, and struggled to eat full meals. But it all settled down soon enough xx

Hi Phebie

I think a lot of us experience bloating and a sluggish digestion when we are pregnant, it is all because of the hormonal changes that pregnancies bring.

Nothing to worry about. Give a quick call to your midwife if you need some reassurance!

Congratulations and. Good luck!

Hi, the bloating for me was the first symptom from around 3-4 weeks. I am now 9 weeks and it is starting to subside slightly (now just mainly n the evenings as that is when I get my morning sickness)

I'm on the countdown to the scan when everyone has reassured me I will feel loads better.

I've found that eating something every 2-3 hours helps to keep it at bay as long as they are healthy snacks.

Good luck x

Thank you everyone for all the information, it's been a big help! It's safe to say I can not wait for my dating scan when I know everything is alright and I don't feel sick day and night! X

Hiya, I too had this from about 5-6 weeks, this is my 2nd pregnancy - (never had the bloating in my 1st). Still get a little now, I ended up getting Lactoluse to help with the bowels (as I found stool changes boarding on constipation occurred), plus Windeeze tablets to suck and peppermint tea helped a little too. Im coming up to 9wks now and like mrs_k_79 get it more as the evening goes on, that along with nausea and this horrible metallic taste. :) Just keep making sure to drink loads of water too :)

Hi, congrats on your pregnancy :)

I am 8 weeks and from two weeks ago I have been bloated all day and the only time i'm not is first thing in the morning before i've had any food/drinks. even just a cuppa makes my belly bloat :( I think its completely normal as long as your not actually in pain as I've had this with my previous pregnancies too, it just gets a bit worse each time.
