This is my 3rd baby and im feeling rather overwhelmed by what i should be buying, when to buy, what to expect and just out of practice. My youngest is 4 so its been a long time since i even held a baby let alone shop for one. . Iv just had my scan and im now 14 weeks 2 days, times going fast and Im petrified i wont be ready. Anyone else felt this way? And really where do i start with buying :s

Hello, and congratulations!

I don't think there's a right time to buying things - my OH and I waited until well after 24 weeks for most things because we moved house!

Saying that, it may be a good idea to have a look at things in the sales that are on - especially if you can get a bargain. During the January sales I bought a cot bed and mattress from Kiddicare for less than £100!

I seem to remember websites like Boots and Bounty having a 'Newborn Checklist' - try searching those sites. When it comes down to it, you won't need a huge amount for the first few months (I've only got things for 0-6, high chairs etc can wait for the minute!) - don't be fooled by all the gadgets and gizmos! And, if you suddenly realise you're without something, I'm sure a family member or friend could nip out and get it for you, too? X

NCT sales great for second hand stuff. Especially the newborn clothes - a lot of the stuff I got was practically new. Worth getting big things like car seat in sales. You've got plenty of time yet!

Hi,

Congrats on your 3rd pregnancy, im now a mummy of 2 children as i gave birth to my 2nd child in November last year.

With my eldest being 4 years old at the time of my pregnancy i used to constantly worry about how I'd cope with just everyday activities like taking my son to school on time & going to the shops.

My hubby works full time 12hrs a day & is out of our house by 5am every morning which pretified me even more but since our daughter has arrived ive just honestly taken things day by day & even when im feeling as if im having a rough day i dont beat myself up about it.

In regards to getting all/most of the baby stuff like clothing & equipment i personally do most of my shopping online & either have it delivered to my doorstep or pick it up in the stores which offer the "click & collect" schemes.

xx

Congratulations!!! I'm a mummy of three and my dd is now 6 months. I've got a 12 year gap and believe me it all comes back to you so quickly. As for buying stuff I waited till 25w, And by then I'd been offered lots of clothes, cot,Moses basket, baby bath etc .... All we bought was a travel system, mattresses, a few clothes and baby toiletries. Try not to stress and relax your doing great x

Thank you everyone, glad im not alone. I have just brought a large bundle of clothes for only £7 which is great. Im getting this month out of the way and then starting to buy. I have also just found out that you can pay in installments at most big baby stores which is great news when i see they have many on sale down to £200 and under for pushchairs. . my dilemma now is which to buy. I also never knew that mothercare do their own range of baby items, who can argue with a new steriliser for only £11 :0
