My midwife tells me that if the pattern of movements you are used to changes you should either call the midwife or your hospital. It happened to me a few weeks ago and they told me to go down to the hospital and put me on a monitor. All was ok, just best to be sure.

Sometimes if the baby turns around you may not be able to feel as many kicks (if baby is kicking towards your back rather than towards your tummy.)

If you're ever worried, have a cold sugary drink like fresh orange juice & lie down on your left side. This should encourage baby to start kicking. If you phone the hospital they will ask you to try this first (mine did anyway) before going in to see them if you still think there's a problem.

In answer to your question, yes babies often feel sleepy with movement so if you are active they will likely be having a little snooze!! X

My midwife gave me a leaflet that said after 28 weeks you should feel your baby move ten times in an hour if not try a cold drink and snack and count for another hour so ten movements in two hours and if you don't get that then get checked. You may go hours when you are busy or very active, when you may not notice movements this is for when you are actually counting.

Hey hun, its perfectly normal for baby to be moving less if u have been active, as u rush about and do ure daily activities it cradles and sways baby to sleep. U may find when u relax at night ir have a lazy day the LO kicks up a storm. Although sometimes they just like their lazy days too! Near the end of my second pregnancy my LO gave me a freight as she had not moved all day, poking her wiggling tummy drinking fizzy juice eating chocolate and lying on left side none of it worked. Phoned triage at hospital and they said to come in if i was concerned.

I went in and she could not find heart beat. Im now terrified at this point. She straps heart monitor round belly, next thing i know the baby starts going nuts! She would not sit still lol turned out all was ok and she was a healthy 9lb baby.

Dont feel silly hun, if ure worried phone and they will make u welcome and check u over for peace of mind
