Sterilising!
Yea Hun they say 6 months is when you can stop and just continue washing them in bit soapy water like you said you can use tap water aswell at 6 months instead of having to faff around with boiling a kettle x
Feeding equipment such as plates , cutlery , cups etc can be washed in hot soapy water after 6 months but bottles MUST continue to be sterelised until 12 months. That is the dept. Of health recommendation. Its because of the formula 'make up' and how bacteria grows. Your baby is at a much higher risk of gaestroenteritis , sickness and diaorreah, stomach problems etc if you don't sterlise.
6 months is fine. My son puts everything and anything in his mouth while he crawls around and thts not sterilised . Hes 7 months and perfectly fine. Obv its up too u.
I'm still sterilising at 6 months and il continue to do so until he's down to bout 2 bottles a day. He still has 4-5 8oz bottles at the min so probably when he's bout 8-9 months il stop x
Well I've always sterilised my bottles right up to 12 months old. When I started weaning at 6 months I've not done the spoons, bowls and cups just washed them in hot soapy water.
I stopped at 6 months with dummies (she was breastfeed). I suspect if she's survived eating random stuff which she finds in the floor she'll be ok with non sterilised stuff 🙊
