Back to back baby
Hands and knees for the next 2 weeks!!
Hi, your lucky you found out now I did not find out until I was in labour so had very little time to try and turn my son, my midwife told my OH to rub my belly to try and incourage my son to move he did a little utill he was side ways (his back was facing my left hand side) I had to have a vontuse delivery but he was delivered safely even if it was a little more painful. Good luck
Sitting & rolling on one of those birthing / excersise balls should help.
My Lil one was detected as back to back at about 29wks of pregnancy but luckily enough she turned around by WK 32-33
Xx
I did this with a yoga ball too, and while I was still at work I made sure I was only perched on the edge of chairs, legs open leaning forward all the time, watched TV on hands and knees in the evenings! Went swimming (breast stroke) several times - he turned and was in perfect position by the time he was born!
My 2nd was born back to back. Made no difference during labour or the birth-it hurts no matter what lol! Xx
I delivered my first baby back to back, he was delivered by ventouse in the end as I just struggled to push him out. If the baby is going to turn she will.
I didnt know my daughter was back to back untill I was pushing! Had ventouse due to her keep getting stuck but I still had a very quick labour. Ive heard uskng a birthing ball is supposed to help though.
Number 1 was back to back and number 2 is currently back to back I'm 37 weeks, trying to turn him! I didn't know number 1 was back to back until in labour, it was a lovely slow gentle labour, baby was quite happy whenever she was monitored but the midwife didn't like how long it was going on for and sent me to hospital (I was at a midwife led unit, 15 minutes drive away). Ambulance sorted me out and I was fully dilated when I arrived, had an episiotomy (which was fine, far better than a 3rd degree tear one of my friends had) and she was born normal vaginal delivery.
If you want to read about what you can do and what the optimal position is, this is a good website for information spinningbabies.com
Babies do turn during labour and it is possible to have a normal birth even if they are back to back, I've done a hypnobirthing course and so am doing visualisations of baby turning into the correct position, but am not worried about it. In the evening I sit and bounce on my birthing ball and if the reflux isn't too bad do the polar bear position - on all fours, then down onto your elbows, head resting on your hands, not very elegant, but gives baby space to move. I can still feel all my baby's limbs at the front, very wriggly, but I keep trying to turn him. I've planned a home birth this time and my midwife is happy and excited about that, not at all concerned about baby being back to back. Good luck, you can do it!
Went to see my midwife this afternoon and I must have done something right, she said baby is the right way round now! I did a visualisation just before my appointment while listening to my birthing affirmations and hypnobirthing relaxation CD. Just got to keep him the right way round, bouncing on my ball now!
That's excellent - well done!
