Have you tried pre-warming the cot with a hot water bottle (take it out before you put him in)?

Have you tried putting the an item of your clothing in? My daughters got my dressing gown now she’s in a cotbed but used to put in a T-shirt (it didn’t always help her though). If he’s able to roll can try his front? That also worked for a while with mine. She would fall asleep in her sleeping bag on me so then I would shift her in to the cosleeper on her front. Only when she could roll. She now puts herself on her front.

It’s trial and error I’ve found. My now 9 month old has started sleeping most of the night but it’s not been easy to figure out what works for her. Then when we’ve cracked it she changes

Have you tried putting him in before he is actually asleep? Someone said to me imagine falling asleep in your bed and then waking up in the middle of a field, you would probably cry too! Lol

Does your cot have the ability to set it at a slight incline? My baby was much happier when he wasn't flat on his back. You could put rolled up towels under the mattress if not.

I used to put a hot water bottle down to warm the spot so I wasn't placing him on a cold surface. I still do that now and he's 15 months old!

Sorry didn't mean to repeat. I don't always look at what other people say. Hot water bottles are my solution for everything to be honest :) Glad it's worked. Enjoy your little one!

No need to be sorry lovely... 😊😊

This could be due to the Moro reflex. When you place baby down on the mattress they feel like they are falling, which wakes them.

When you go to place them in the basket have them on their side and then when on the mattress place them gently on their back.

Not what you're looking for?
