Getting nowhere...

So at my last midwife appointment on the 6th of August my midwife never wrote my next appointment in my notes, I knew it wasn't until this month so 2 weeks ago I rang them to ask when it was. I was told 'we can't tell you somebody will call you back' nobody did. Again last week I rang was told again 'we can't give that information to you a midwife will call you back' yet again nobody did. Yesterday morning again I rang, this time I was asked for my details she went off and checked came back and told me it was yesterday morning and that I'd missed it!! I asked her can I rearrange it she told me no I need to contact the clinic where it's held and speak to the midwife, I pointed out that the midwife is not based there and she's only there for one morning a week. I rang the clinic anyway just to be told what I already knew 'there's nothing they can do, the midwifes only there for one morning a week'.

Feels like with this pregnancy they just don't care. They didn't book me in until I was about 14 weeks because 'no one was available to do it'

It just feels like I'm getting nowhere, and that I'm constantly going round in circles :(

Where are you based? Can you not register with another hospital and have your midwifes app there?

It must be so frustrating and I feel for you, just keep on calling them and complain. Good luck

Unfortunately not all midwives at the local hospitals are run from one hospital, all based in the same team, ringing isn't getting anywhere just being told to wait for a call back x

My goodness they sound useless, just reading your comments here is making me angry for you. It is ridiculous the way they operate. Don't give up keep ringing them till you get to someone that can help. Also see ur gp and see if they can do anything for you. Good luck hon I got my fingers crossed for you xx

I had a very similar situation to this with my last pregnancy - I booked in an appointment with my GP and she managed to help reassure me and get me back on track with the midwife - turns out a silly miss communication mean I was taken off their books. Why not see your GP and see if they can help, even if it's just to get the OK that everything is going well with bump?x

I'll try and get an appointment with gp and hope they can help, fed up of going round in circles now x

U need to ring the community midwife dept at ur local hospital and say ur not happy about this and ur going to put ona formal complaint of it happens again. .. that is so wrong and their faultu should not have to be chasing them up is not ur job! Ring back and ask to soak to someone senior x

I had a leaflet in my bounty maternity notes carrier giving contact details for the people in charge of midwives (sorry, don't have them with me so don't have any more info). Maybe you could find that and contact them? Best of luck sortihg it out x

You should definitely persevere with getting them to listen to you. Like everyone else has said speak to your GP but don't rule out making a complaint either. Good luck! x
