I had exactly the same a few weeks ago....went for an early scan and only a sack...which in itself was good news as they were checking for ectopic so to see the sack in right place was a relief, but there was nothing to be seen in the sack. By my dates I was at that point 6 weeks pregnant. I had to wait a full 2 weeks before they would rescan me which they did three weeks ago now and thankfully they then saw a small fetus with heartbeat, by my dates I should then have been just over 8 weeks pregnant but by the scan I was only 7 weeks so the early scan with just the sack I would have only been 5 weeks which the midwives told me is why there was nothing to be seen at that stage as I was just too early. Both scans also had to be internal scans as they were struggling to see anything with the external scanner. I am still a little confused about my dates though as if I really was only 7 weeks pregnant in the second scan it means I had a positive pregnancy test at 3 weeks pregnant which I didn't know was possible. Got my 12 week scan booked in two weeks though and the dates they give me then are supposedly the dates we then work on up until the end. Fingers crossed for you that in two weeks you will get the same good news I did. Is a worrying time though and I know for me those two weeks were awful waiting to find out if all was ok. xxxx
