First midwife appointment

Can someone tell me what to expect on my first midwife appointment. Iv been told its one of the worst appointments you have. Is this true xx

Worst is probably a bit strong, they won't do anything nasty to you

It's mostly paperwork - medical history, family medical history, allergies etc. Your urine, bmi and blood pressure will be checked and you will have blood taken.

It's fairly boring, both of mine have lasted around 45 mins - an hour.

Enjoy it, next stop is your scan! x

They go thru ur health history and ask questions think they all of the is any history in partners health history can't remember what they were sorry. .. have a wee sample ready ask at the drs reception for a bottle... they take ur Bloods and blood pressure... but if u have any questions write them down its usually about 40 mins x

Your booking appointment? Its not a bad appointment. It's the longest as go through personal history to see if think might be any potential problems and work out approx. dates etc, but the midwifes are usually lovely and put you really at ease. Mine was really good x

It's not bad, just boring. I found it a bit of a let-down as I was so excited about my first one, but it was just paperwork on family history. Mine was very rushed and she didn't have time to go through everything or take blood pressure or bloods - so I had to go back for another appointment the following week. Good luck!
