Hi Goynsy

Im afraid this is the sort of question which could only be "correctly" answered by a medical proffesional Aka Midwife or G.P.

Ive personally never experienced having a fibroid but judging from what i read from some of the ladies ( on this forum) is the pregnancy has a good chance of going full term to then have a healthy baby.

xx

if uve made it to 14 weeks, uve by-passed the major danger point, congrats!! not sure on the fibroids but im sure any risks would have been explained by ur healthcare professional and they will make extra appointments on top of those u would normally have so they can monitor u more closely. if they arent worried then u shouldnt overly be either (I know easier said than done, right) xx

Hello, first of all congratulations!! Secondly the issue with fibroids is usually about conception and you successfully managed to conceive. I have a large fibroid too but was told it would not be an issue with the pregnancy progressing as normal. I am not aware of any other issues, unless your doctor told you otherwise.

Thirdly being 41 years old is not an issue. Most women choose to have children later in life. You are already through the 12 weeks scan and blood test and I assume you were told everything is fine. I am sure during the check up they told you that with regards to risks for developmental abnormalities e.g. down syndrome, the risk of having an issue is not much different from that of a 25 year old.

Last but not least, being overweight means you will be looked after by a special team at the hospital if your BMI is over 30. They will check you more frequently than normal and give you advice on eating and exercising so that you don't put on too much weight during pregnancy. Good luck!
