Hi I have just been introduced to the idea of hypnobirthing. the colleague who told me about couldn't speak highly enough about it.

Does anyone know much about it and is it worth the money?

Also how many prenatal classes do the NHS offer?

My Friend really recommended it as well. ..I was interested but probably won't do it but she still has the relaxation tapes so may listen to them x

I'm attending a hypnobirthing session for the first time tomorrow. It is running in one of my local children's centres and is free. My midwife told me about it. Might be worth asking yours. Didn't do NHS antenatal but opted for NCT which is two full days and an evening session.

I used hypnobirthing the mongan method with my first baby and found it pretty amazing. No pain relief because no pain only pressure. Now I'm 30 weeks pregnant with 2nd baby and I'm reading over my book and file and listening to my relaxation and affirmations again because for me there is no other way to give birth. It's brilliant to have medical help on hand if needed because occasionally medical help IS needed there's no getting away from that and the midwives do a fantastic job. The female body was made to do this though and you're perfectly equipped to give birth naturally, all by your self, in the middle of nowhere if necessary. The course just reinforces that in your mind. It just makes sense if you're open minded enough to try it I'm sure you won't regret it but generally people tend to see it as a load of rubbish.

I hope you go for it x
