Half way, my story so far..................

Hello lovely ladies,

I really wanted a go at writing a blog and although many people that write update blogs are so much further on than me i feel already i have a little bit of a story

My partner and i have been together for just over 18 months, absolute love of my life, you know we took it slow had only known each other 12 years before we got together.He has been in the Army since last July and i couldnt be prouder about how far he has come. We decided that once he had his first posting i would move with him and we would live off the base together as we didnt feel an urgent rush to get married.

After both initially saying when we first got together we didnt want children, everywhere we looked people were having babies, so after my last trip to the doctors for my pill we were curious to find out how long it can take to get pregnant we were told on average its about 1 to 3 years especially after being on the pill for nearly 10 years. So we decided that this was my last prescription for the pill and we would let nature take its course (if it was going to take a while we could get plenty of practice in ;)) and we would be living together and settled when the time arrived.

i took my last pill on Xmas day and came on 28th December 2012, and that was my last period, 25th Jan 2013 period due and all ready for a night out for my best friends birthday but didnt feel well, my best friend and partner kept saying just take a test to prove a point i did it and there were the 2 lines, couldnt quite believe it and with it being a cheap test i didnt trust it but 3 tests later (including a clear blue digital as the last one) i started to believe it but still did another million tests.

As many of you are aware, i was nervous and anxious from the very beginning worrying about every little thing, 6 weeks slight bleed in to EPU confirmed the pregnancy and called me back 2 weeks later as it was still early and couldnt see much, at 8 weeks there was our little 15.4mm bean. 13 weeks and 4 days my partner made it to my scan appointment with me for the first time and there was our baba sitting upright being a little tinker and sonographer struggled to get measurements, Scan picture actually looked like Bean was singing down a microphone, just like daddy who loves the kareoke machine.

So i have a friend who is due the exact same day as me with her second, she was experiencing flutters and again i started to panic but around 17 weeks i thought im getting a lot of wind and spoke to my cousin and for the first time i accepted i could feel our Bean, i panicked when my friend said her partner could fell flutters from her bump as my man had tried the week before when i felt it and couldnt feel anything but as i was lying down on Sunday night i had to shout my mum i told her to put her hand on my belly, her hands were freezing i felt bean move and said did you feel that she said no but as she was saying it Bean went again and she said i felt that one

at the moment im averaging about 5 hours sleep a night im exhausted but as long as Bean is ok i dont mind, The boyo is home Friday morning in time for our 20 week scan, if possible we are definately finding out, id be lying if i said i wasnt scared about the appointment so worried they may find something wrong still. We have our names and all being well i will share them next week with you as we are pretty much set for a boy and we were for a girl but i have thrown another one in and now we are torn between 2.

I know i still have another 20 weeks to go but i would like to say a massive thankyou to all you lovely ladies who have shared experiences and advice with me

Ohh exciting my scan is next fri...I'll prob find out but also I'm anxious that everything is ok....I've got a few names 3 for a girl one for a boy....other half has been completely useless at helping with baby names...I'm going to ask for some help on here!

well when we first decided to start trying i (stupidly) agreed to letting him choose the boy and me choose the girl, tbh ive pretty much got my way with the girls name its the name i have liked since i was younger but when i mentioned the other girls name he said but i like the other one the one you choose so i think we are det on that, also if it was left to him out child would be named after his favourite hollywood actor or one of his characters, we live in Cheshire not Hollywood lol, i wanted something that was nice and not too strange but not overly common atm, are you leaning more towards one than another with your girls names

When I went into labour both times we had not got a boys name so I just let him pick them. I have always been adiment what girls name I want and we both like it, I am just hoping that I can use it soon instead of stressing over another boys name that we both like.

ahh its exciting and ur not going on, and its lovely that ur partner can be with u, u will both love it. I am 24+3 and having a little boy as i couldn't resist finding out, my boyfriend let me make the final decision lol, although we had more names we preferred for a little girl so finding names for a boy that we agree on is becoming more of a challenge lol. Enjoy every moment of this amazing adventure. xx

i cant wait and i have no preference as to what i would like, i think he would like a mini him, a little soldier but also i think he would also love a little princess, there is only one boy on my side of the family and coming from a football crazy family i think everyone would like to put their football influence on to Bean and his side has got absolutely no girls so will be very nice either way

I like Lila, kyra or kya for a girl and so far dexter for a boy needs some more names!

OMG its like we have the same mind, we have had Dexter for a boy but we have changed our minds on that now and the little girls name that i have just thought of that we do both like is Lila

It's my nieces middle name so not sure how they would feel if we used it...but I would like more names ive only just started thinking...Lola is too popular now and Leila but think Lila is a bit more unusual

we have Ewan James for a boy and Ashlea Catherine for a girl, James is my brother and Catherine is my Partners Mum

What a lovely blog chick. I bet you can't wAit for your partner to come home and in time for the scan too. I'm wishing you the best of luck for it, enjoy every minute its a fantastic scan very detailed. I would have found out too but seeing as I have one of each it dosnt matter so much as long as baby is healthy, and love playing the guessing game. And lovely names you've both chosen. My hubby has the task of choosing names,,,, he's not doing so well has a girl name but no boy. X

the scan is great but takes a while as they have to check a lot of things. I had to have my scan in two parts as my little girl didnt want to turn around so I was sent for a walk and some food and then come back to have the scan finished. It is amazing experience and I think we are so lucky to live in this date and age to be able to see our babies inside as in the old days they didnt have this technology. Me and my husband cannot agree on boys names at all so I do hope that the midwife's judgement of us having a girl works out. We are planning to name our girl Amelia Eva. I do like your choice of Lila. Enjoy the experience. x
