Has anyone used an "epi-no"?

The lady conducting my NCT classes recommended it, and the reviews I have read on 'Mumsnet' seem favourable. Interested to hear people's experiences!

Hi I had never heard of it til seeing your post. Just googled it and read the info. It is defo something I will be considering in the later stages of my pregnancy. Quite frankly an episiotomy scares the crap out of me! So if I can train my muscles to reduce the risk if needing one I'm all for it! x

Much less scary than a 4th degree tear and a lifetime of faecal incontinence... The joys of childbirth!!

Yeah, I agree it sounds like it would be worth a go. I have now ordered one (am 34 weeks on Thursday) so will let you know how it goes! xx

I'm going to go with perineal massage - only thing I've seen in practice that seemed to reduce complications.

Thanks Dr Fluffy! Yes, I plan to do that too. In fact, I think the Epi-no is designed to be used in conjunction with perineal massage ... xx
