Going on my own experience Dr Google has given me more confusion and anxiety than useful help. I had 6 sessions of Cisplatin as part of my cancer treatment and was very worried about potential hearing loss. At one point I thought I was getting tinnitus and immediately told my oncology team. They were very caring and referred me for an urgent hearing check which showed my hearing was normal. With hindsight I think my symptoms were likely due to anxiety.
I've done a lot of networking, live and virtual, over the past 8 years since treatment. Of all the side effects that crop up, hearing loss has rarely featured.
Just be sure to let your oncology team know immediately if you notice any changes to your hearing. If tests show you have a problem I think they will review your treatment.
Tinnitus is the bane of my existence. I have had it for many years and there is no cure! Sometimes (like right now) it is worse and sometimes if I watch TV I can ignore it.
I do have hearing loss and now wear hearing aids. My audiologist has been involved in a study about hearing loss and "platinum" chemo drugs and she has also been surveyed several times.
