Late effects Rash

Hi ,

Just wondering if anyone had late effects rash . This had appeared where I had radiotherapy everyday for 39 sessions. For Anal Cancer two half years ago.

Although I was badly burnt at the time of treatment and went through significant amount of pain.

To be honest have not thought about it to much due to trauma.

My skin did recover all but very thin.

It's upper inner thigh, very ichy, painful and hot. Big red purple flat spots.

Taken parcetmol and put calendula cream on.

Wearing lose clothes.

Please let me know , how to treat. Or thoughts!

Thank you

sorry to hear this I was lucky in that respect as my skin remained good it sounds really awful have you tried a non steroidal cream like diclofenac I get very itchy skin and this works a treat for the itch and stops me scratching which in turn would relieve the pain . Hope it improves

I would seek urgent medical advice to rule out e.g. infection: cellulitis. I suggest calling 111. Or A&E if you are feeling unwell.

Thank you , Am going GPs tomorrow. Feeling OK, just hot burning not spreading. Also resting has helped .

Certainly needs checking out.

Well turns it out it's not a rash, a bruising. I also had hip replacements . The skin is fragile will be monitored .

Have no idea how this happened.
