is there anyone who has thus after pelvic radiotherapy? I have three , on red in n e as ch sacrum which a specialist in Birmingham (I live in Devon) can fix with sacroplasty. I’m concerned about that but if would strengthen my pelvic ring which us currently unstable. However my greatest discomfort is the pubis rumi fracture. Apparently the only way of treating that is to pin a plate onto the sides if my pelvis which they are not willing to do. I’m so depressed by it all. Also I feel isolated as I don’t know anyone that has the same problem. It is affecting my whole life.

hi there Quercus16,

I was told shortly after my treatment I had pelvic insufficiency fractures which horrified me as I had no idea at the time this was even a possibility! They said there were “hairline fractures that will heal on their own”. I did experience hip/back pain after treatment but they said a lot of my discomfort may be due to the fact I had only just given birth so the pelvis changes so much during pregnancy anyway. I suffer terrible with bowel and bladder issues but very fortunate that my insufficiency fractures give me no problems so assumed they have healed. I am so sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties. Like you I live in Devon and feel treatment offered is a postcode lottery so well done for pushing for your specialist referral. It must be hard to make a choice about surgery. Have they referred you to a pain clinic?
