Following a NHS health check with a nurse at my local surgery I have a face to face appointment with a locum next Tuesday to discuss a referral with the PRD specialist team. I took along all of my research stuff to the health check and briefly explained what I needed to her. Having completed the tests and questionnaires about my health I told her how I feel and what I need form my GP. She immediately made the appointment and told me to take all my stuff with me so that I can discuss it. She even put down that I need the referral so that they know why I’m there on Tuesday. At last someone seems to have heard me. I’ll keep you posted 🌞🌞

Brilliant news. I do think things are looking up for people with PRD as finally consultants, researchers and cancer specialists are beginning to join the dots. People now who are receiving radiation therapy and chemo are getting far lower and targeted dosages, depending on their diagnosis. This is due to research and of course many of us here who have raised the issues now, as we suffer from our cancer cure. We must never stop pushing for help, advice and ways to manage our long-term Radiation damage. Not only does it help us to be proactive, it helps others in the future. It also helps develop better treatments for all of us. So glad you've found the late effects clinic. ❤️

Thanks Jimbo65. I guess I’m also one of those people who just won’t give up. I am reallly impressed with this forum. It has been really useful for me personally. I really hope more people and healthcare specialists get on board. I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for a brighter future for all of us living with PRD

Oh Briars I'm so delighted for you!!!! You have picked up the Ball & make sure you keep running with it. Good luck with everything tomorrow & can't wait to hear how you get on. 😀👍

Thank you. I’m a dingbat. It’s actually on Wednesday my appointment. Got a bit over excited I think and mixed it up with my Urology appointment today. That’s to restart the treatment for my bladder lining with Aluril. 🤦‍♀️
