Cancer is back

I had anal cancer *squamous cell cancer) and after chemoradiation and 5yrs scans, I was NED-no evidence of disease.I'd been treating symptoms as PRD but scan showed scc cancer is back in my abdomen and inoperable. I'm now in palliative care, well looked after. I've come to terms with living with a terminal cancer and make the most of every day.

So sorry to hear your news. I had same treatment 19 years ago and as you believe my symptoms to be PRD but thinking I should get checked? Was there something specific that made you see a doctor? I can only wish you well and hope you are able to make the most of each and every day.

I'm so sorry that your cancer is back. I hate cancer! What kind of symptoms were you experiencing when you had PRD? Enjoy each day now and do what gives you happiness. I always remember that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, I know that doesn't make this any easier but it does give me a little bit of comfort. God bless you

palliative care is a godsend, it’s so good to hear you cab access it, and are at peace. We all have to go sometime, somehow.

Me too, similar, but unique. 33 years post-anal cancer chemo radiation, cured the SCC, but now the PRD has caused rectal prolapse, and a new bladder and kidney cancer, neither of which I am doing any intervention other than palliative care. Rest easy.
