"Differential Diagnoses

MS has numerous symptoms, many of which are vague, difficult to describe, cannot be measured by tests, and come and go. In addition, many MS symptoms are shared by other medical conditions.

Examples of diseases that can mimic MS include:

Infectious diseases like syphilis, Lyme disease, or HIV

Autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus, sarcoidosis, or Sjögren's syndrome

Vitamin B12 deficiency

Structural problem in the spine, such as a herniated disc

Genetic disorders like leukodystrophies

Brain or spinal cord tumor

Your doctor may suspect other conditions as well, depending on your symptoms."

Hi sashaming1, thanks for another of your useful contributions on MS and the link to that very clear article. I'm not sure how many members of PWB we have with MS, but it's an interesting topic for anyone who has it or even thinks that they may. Take care! 👍

No problem although I did have trouble making sure it gets to the right forum. So maybe it didn't go only to the forum concerning MS. Hmmmmm.

Hi sashaming1, do check and make sure it's on the MS forum as it's useful information and it'd be great if it reaches the widest number of people who suffer from MS! 👍

Absolutely no problem! We all have our moments! 😃
