At least I can do the favorite activity part: spend time with family, go on walks with the dogs, bike ride, run, workout, work in the veggie garden (always a lot to do), start getting in next winters fire wood supply, and be lazy.
That all sounds fabulous! So glad you have so much to do with others, or alone if you choose to. All are healthy things, too. I’m alone, other than with my dog, as always and I thought I was prepared for this kind of thing, but not being able to go anywhere for just small talk with a cashier or whomever was really the only human contact I had before this and now that’s reduced even further. I’m happy to hear of your plans and options!
A dog always helps out. They are the perfect friends. When everything else fails: the dog always loves you.
It is a bit sad to be secluded alone though. I suppose the positive side is this forum, Internet, movies, exercise, books, walks, and the like. Things to be thankful for.
We have one, he stays indoors (obvs) so no walkies. I’m disabled too, I use a walking stick, definitely couldn’t manage a dog now.
There’s only his litter tray to deal with. We get the litter delivered, I tried the weight in a supermarket & couldn’t lift that weight.
I know what you mean about jumping up dogs, they worry me. Our cat never jumps up like a dog but once seated will gracefully leap onto our laps for cuddling which is lovely. 😻
It’s just a shame that there is no where that’s open to get one. Sounds like a great idea.
I would need a trial as I have many allergies, but I have had a couple in the past, sadly both cats was ill treated by neighbours (I’ve moved since), as I had a long stay in hospital, when I returned home both was no longer here. Both of them was house cats as they were pedigrees.
Best to wait for shelters to re-open, I’m presuming they’re closed that is. Interestingly I was very allergic to cats until my 30’s, think I somehow I got over it tho as now in my 50’s I’m fine.
I wonder if you could spend a few hours with a cat & find out. A friend had a ‘house rabbit’, that could be fun too! 🐇 xx
