A really good tip Nanodoce. No matter how much we regret our mistakes from the past, we can't always amend them. When we can't.... better to let go.
Great way to look at things
we cannot change the past so we must try to stop worrying about it,we have all mistakes, and that is how we grow.
No point mulling over things which are past; Time to move on to the future.

the past should serve to learn, but not the luggage to travel to the future
Hi, I too have felt 'ok' when I'm not overanalyzing the bad things I have done in the past but I struggle with this also.
If I feel 'ok', I ask myself am I not taking responsibility for my actions? It's as though I deserve to feel terrible, otherwise I'm not owning my past behaviour. As though if I'm 'happy' it just makes me a worse person for not punishing myself.
That makes it difficult for me to ever feel as though I'm not a bad person.
I really relate to your post. The months of lockdown have made it so much worse. Too much time to think and beating myself up for the bad things I have done. I have a good life now and try really hard to focus on the here and now, but oh dear, the agonising about the past. Tempting to try to put things right or apologise. Stupid I know. How do we deal with these thoughts? I try my best to be a better person and have done so for 25 years now, but I can't forgive myself a short spell before that.
I am really haunted by a short spell in my past although it is over twenty five years ago now. Do you or anyone have any ideas where I might be able to explore ways to overcome this?
