Hi everyone,
I was thrilled when I had this visitor in my garden earlier today - I managed to take 2 photos of her.
Also, the Broccoli looking a lot like a 'tree' made me smile.
So thought I'd share those two things with you.

Hi Zest, love these pics esp. the broccoli. Is the bird a quail?.x
Hi Hidden
I don't think she is a quail, I think she might be a Golden pheasant? But I'm not sure.
Glad you like the photos.
Zest x
Thanks Zest, Didn't notice the tail. I took some pics years ago of a male Golden pheasant, no mistaking them....they're quite exotic. Alas just get to see pics of them now.(thanks to Google) xx
A beautiful bird. All those subtle colours in the plumage. Nice broccoli too!🙂🌸
Hello that's a lovely photo I think the wild life are getting tamer we came across a squirrel in park right next to a pigeon they never moved as we passed by, and the brocholli does a good impersonation of a tree enjoy your evening 🤗
Lovely photo's Zest, I saw a Cormorant this afternoon while I was out, which made a nice change from the two Crows I've taken a liken to on the green at the front of the house.😊👍
Hi Zest
I love pheasants, they are what I call daft and clumsy birds, so entertaining.
Well considering it's Autumn your tree is looking very green😉😉.
Have a lovely evening.
Alicia xx🌈👍😊

Hi Zest, what a very welcome visitor to your garden. Really lovely! And yes I often think of my broccoli as a bonzai tree when I cut it in half! 😃
We had one visit our front garden a couple of years ago. She is beautiful. Thank you for sharing x
Lovely photos, on the topic of Broccoli my son sent one for me the stalk was like a tree stump, lovely dark green florets , so I prepared it , blanched and put in freezer for another days dinner or two.
Hi katieoxo60
That's great that you've prepared and blanched your broccoli and frozen it. I've done that with brussel sprouts before, but never with broccoli - I must give it a go.
Zest
Most vegatables can be blanched and frozen rather than wasting them . Broccolli is quite nice as a cheese bake it can be mixed with different veg like in your picture , make a cheese sauce and pour over and bake in the oven . Sadly I don't do much cooking of that kind anymore but I have a special knife for cutting veg to blanch and a two handled pan to do it in. It was nice to see that elderly lady on the news making pies in the old fashioned way for people who could no longer do it themselves. x
