Morning walk

was a bit damp this morning so we went to our local park/woodland for our walk. We always love this walk but I thought I would share it with you.

The carving is one of several, the park is well known for its beautiful Monkey Puzzle Trees and just over a year ago one of them was brought down in a storm. It was decided that because the trees are so iconic then to just dispose of it would be a shame. The council and park management brought in a tree carving artist this is one example of their resulting work. The wild flowers are stunning to see with masses of bluebells and wild garlic at the moment.

Sounds like a caring and thoughtful council. Not always the case unfortunately.

How lovely to walk in beautiful parks and come across these thought provoking carvings.

😁😀

They sliced the tree and there are lots of these carvings. The original kitchen garden is now used by disabled young adults who plant and grow on plants for sale. The amazing greenhouses were restored with a lottery grant and are fabulous.

What an enterprising group of people and what an example they are setting to other groups. I'm really impressed!

No Sewerby in East Yorkshire. Just lovely to walk on clifftop to park and usually a lovely coffee before walking back.
