Hidden 's post reminded me about this I saw stuck on a wheelie bin here where I live in France. Our bin men come out rain or shine, bank holiday or not, coronavirus or not.
I just thought it was a cute thing and a nice way to thank them. You can just see from the photo that the sun was just coming up as I walked the dogs and giving everything an orange tinge. "Thank you and good luck" is the rough translation...although is a side order of "stay strong and chin up" in there too. Some things are hard to translate exactly.
I am trying to find something to make me smile every day and it is much easier than I thought it would be on these times of doom and gloom.

This is so lovely, thank you for sharing. My parents live a long way from me and and we are constantly messaging, now more than usual. My dad and my mum, who are both self-isolating as they are in their lates 70s (although they are both very fit and well), went out on the driveway to clap the bin men this morning, who all replied with big grins and waves. My parents and my sister and her family live only a few minutes walk from each other in the same village. It is a great consolation to me knowing that they are all so close together and able to support each other.
I live a long way from my parents too (a different country) - but, like you, my sister lives very close. It is nice to know someone is looking after them
