Come the day!

What is the first thing you are going to do when this is over? I think a haircut, leg wax, pedicure etc etc.

I will go and see my grandchildren instead of video calling them. Have a good day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

in reply toDamon1864

I have seen my great grandchildren quite a lot recently. The oldest has special needs and she can’t understand but the youngest knows just to wave and he mustn’t come near me.

How sad for all of you. 😢

We live by the sea, so we’re ok there. A cup of Costa’s finest would be good though.

I've a bean to cup coffee machine so not missing out on that. Nearest Costa coffee place to here 15 miles away so don't often have one anyhow

I'm in Worthing but can't go far from my house as I'm at increased risk. When it's over I want to walk into town along the seafront , get my haircut and have coffee with all those friends I can only see on Skype or Zoom at the moment.

Opposite the Isle of Wight in Hampshire.

I'm coming there for a weekend in October for my birthday actually

Yes Hayling Island is in Hampshire. My son in law’s parents live there.

In no particular order, get my hair cut, get my toenails cut (can't see well enough to do it myself), take a bus ride to some bigger shops than I've got locally, get a cooked lunch in a local cafe, and hopefully be back at work

I can't cut my own toe nails due to a bad back nor shave backs of my legs that's why pedicure and leg wax top of my list.

David used to do them for me.....shave not wax wouldn't let him try that

I am going to race up to my mum's, calling in at Sainsbury's on the way for her fav, lemon drizzle cake a big bunch of flowers, then sit in her garden, give her the biggest hug and just have a chat and a cup of tea. Something simple that I miss. xx

I am looking forward to my monthly beard-trim and haircut - with my own clippers. I have been using my foot-file for a DIY pedicure.

In a month or two I might be one of the best-groomed guys in town!

My life won't change. Housebound for 4 years, can't go shopping or the hairdresser. I long to have a good pedicure, but I can only dream. ☹️🙄

It would be good to think that someone could do that for you in your own home.

in reply to

Here a podiatrist will come to you.

She's missing a hug. You know she was 80 in January. It's so tough for everyone at the moment. xxx

It is my mum is in hospital having broken her femur . The hospital is locked down so no one can visit 😔

bobbybobb profile image
bobbybobbAmbassador in reply toJana101

Oh, I'm so sorry about that. You both must be very worried at the moment. Are you in regular phone contact and when is she due out of hospital. xxx

Jana101 profile image
Jana101 in reply tobobbybobb

Thanks . It is worrying for me and my sisters . They live locally to her and I’m miles away. Sadly she was very disabled before this fall so we don’t know if she can go back to her sheltered accommodation. We are in daily contact but she can’t use modern technology so has a basic phone. I expect you regularly chat with your mum? 😊

bobbybobb profile image
bobbybobbAmbassador in reply toJana101

Yes, every day. I am so very lucky, apart from the COPD and OA she has, she is fit. She normally walks a couple of miles a day. I couldn't even imagine how you and your sister's are feeling right now. You must feel very frightened. I hope your mum makes a good recovery and you will soon be able to see her again xxx

I'm going to be 80 in three weeks and I'm touched that my daughters are talking about what they can do for that. That they are thinking of that in the middle of all this is so good of them.

bobbybobb profile image
bobbybobbAmbassador in reply tomaria40

These things are hugely important to people and it would be natural for your daughters to want to, mark this event for you in some way. Even in a crisis, we must find some aspects of normality along the way and on the good side, it will keep them occupied. You might not have a traditional 80th but I do wish you the very best and I'm sure your daughter's will do you justice. xxx

I doubt it will be over soon but when it is, I plan to get my waxing done on my face because of the facial hair.

I too have PCOS. Never dared wax my face👍
