So I’m 9 months postpartum, my anxiety and depression hit me in September after a bad panic attack, now I off and on deal with panic, and depersonalization... I have a constant fear something is going to happen to me and I won’t be able to care for my baby and have bad health anxiety... please tell me I’m not alone in this?

Hi Bossmom

You’re definitely not alone though it can feel like it not least when Drs tell you you’re ok but it doesn’t feel that way.

I mentioned in my reply to your previous post I too suffered from similar symptoms to yours. I don’t know why but it was quite a arduous road to recovery but you will get better.

I’m no health expert at all but perhaps try to tackle the anxiety you have so try to do things that will escalate that flight or fight response. Breathing slowly through the stomach, focusing on things around you in detail can all help. Mindfulness (there’s loads of videos on you tube) , doing nice things for yourself and exercise are all ways to help you improve. Honestly give it a go.

I took anti depressants which helped me hugely and I felt gave me my life back - they were t a miracle cure and I still suffered from blips - ups and downs common to Pni - but it lifted my mood sufficiently to allow me to function once again. This isn’t for everyone and there are pros and cons but perhaps worth discussing with GP.

Please do keep talking as we really understand what you’re going through x
