Hi Keithm1

The only midriff rash that I have developed after steroids was due to shingles. Have you seen your GP? If the rash produces sensitivity and is mostly on one side, then it could be shingles. If you think my description might fit then, get straight to a doctor and, if it is shingles, you will be given an anti-viral drug to reduce the effects and pain. The sooner you have the A.V.s the better.

Good luck,

Pats.

Sorry have not had this. Might not be connected .... Could it be a heat rash? Of a fungal rash which is often a steroid thing.

Good luch with the diagnosis and treatment

Hi, I have had various skin-rashes, itching in various places & scalp abrasions too, all since taking Preds and all the way down from 30 or 40 to where I am now, a mere 4mg/day! I just assumed that this is one of the side-effects they warn you about, so don't tend to worry. My GP prescribed Daktacort at first, but it contains cortisone which you can't stay on for too long at a time, so lately I have been using the non-cortisone version Daktacreme which you can buy off the pharmicist. It aleviates some of the worst itching and your GP may give you permission to use the cortisone one now and again if symptoms worsen. Hope this helps.

raymck. ps:- I am now single-sighted due to GCA last Xmas.
