Repeat Colour Doppler Ultrasound

Hello there, I have just had a call from the Vascular Unit in Coventry who want to do an ultrasound test (I had brain MRI, Blood Vessel MRI and Colour Doppler in China and a Rheumatologist and GP who confirmed GCA). The guy on the phone said that the rheumatologist I met on Friday has requested it - he asked me to go today (I am currently in Norwich keeping a roof over my head by pet sitting). He said it was in my interest to go as early as possible. I explained that I think that the horse has already bolted as I have been on high dose steroids since November so I doubt it will show anything - anyway I am booked in for Monday - Do any of you experts think this is worth a shot or will it be a waste of time? Also, if it is inconclusive, I may have the opposite problem that I mentioned last week - in that I get packed back to China before I am actually fit and ready when I had just started to negotiate working remotely from the UK from March. EEEK!

I have to say I'm sceptical after well over 2 months of high dose pred. However - unless you speak to a real expert you won't get a sensible reply but make it VERY clear how long you have been on how much pred. And it is possible they could find residual signs of the inflammation.

Rugger - what is your experience at the training sessions?
