It can be, yes. It's why we keep saying not to overdo things to protect them.
Hope it heals OK. What do the docs say?
I havnt been to the doctors as it happened a couple of days before visiting my daughter in the Cayman Islands. She is a physio and has been giving me excercises.
I wasn’t doing anything strenuous just changing the bottom sheet on the bed
Oh I don't know - changing the fitted bottom sheet on my bed is like a weights workout despite it being a stretchy one!!!
I was told by a radiologist it’s part and parcel of PMR.
I agree that tendon issues as a sie effect of predgnisone. Biceps typically tear proximally ;closer to shoulder to which are the 2 ( bi ). Turns black and blue ..then almost a greenish ,brown etc. Not typically repaired unless it is being done in conjunction with a shoulder surgery. My experience is that i have torn repairs after shoulder proceedures. Now I have a preference on repair styles ;-).
If the distant end of the muscle tears ,there is a time sensitive window for intervention because the tendon retracts. BTW, when reaching, biceps muscle typically fires before the shoulder muscles . Nice to have a phsio in your corner, I am glad for you. Be well
I've been forced to take Cipro, which can cause tendon rupture. I managed to switch to Augmentin. tendons and bursa are what PMR is all about, so I'm not taking it again.
