Lawyer’s are getting restless with the litigation against the pharmaceutical companies and prednisone in US.

it’s very concerning as they have been attacking many OTC and pharmacy strength medications in cancer causing lawsuits. Taking prednisone off the shelves would be devastating to people with PMR.

That has been discussed before - and frankly, it's what I'd call a Schmarrn, a load of rubbish trying to drum up business. They must really be getting desperate. The likelihood of proving a relationship between use of pred and cancer is minimal - and nowhere outside the USA would it get house-room.

You can live with PMR without pred, it isn't very pleasant, I did it, not from choice, but there are millions of other people for whom it is a real lifesaver - like asthmatics for a start. It is also used in oncology.

Don't believe everything you read in the papers!!!

There have been suggestions that an enormous amount of drugs can be associated with cancer, steroids being one of them. Most drug companies have some lawsuit or other in process most of the time. The fact that steroids have been around for over half a century and have been used on over two hundred types of illnesses will act in their favour.

It’s a shame that many of the people in the legal profession in this country no longer hold truth, justice, and morality as their primary values anymore. Congress ( that has a majority of lawyers in their ranks ) has allowed lawsuits against the government dating back 60 plus years from drinking water at a military base. I don’t think current medicine can unequivocally prove that someone that drank water for 2-3 months 60 years ago developed 1 of several kinds of cancer from it. This case seems to have opened flood gates for these kinds of lawsuits against drug manufacturers ( not that they aren’t without fault) for huge sums of money! I wonder who’s next on their list?

It is very worrying that legal action against certain drugs may cause them to become unavailable. In fact, worrying about it could have a negative effect on many people. Perhaps grounds for a class action against lawyers?
