My CT Scan 🤔

Not exactly worried, but not what I had expected.

Simple small renal cortical cysts are noted

Left adrenal gland is very mildly hyperplastic

Colon is partly decompressed with a few diverticular visible

The stomach is decompressed

What in earth do they mean?

Can only get a ‘routine’ apt with Doctor for explanation (4 weeks time).

But she says in txt everything essentially

normal. I might add none of that was why I went to see her!!

I know it is frustrating that you have to wait so long - but it's probably a bit like in the ED: if you are left at the back of the queue, you aren't in imminent danger!!

That’s what I’m hoping 🤞🏻

The report can look horrific because they mention everything even if it is effectively OK. The fact it is written in a ‘foreign’ language does not help. If there were any major problem they would have phoned you urgently.

I’m sure you’re right, but it was a bit of a shock that there was so much. Also none of it relates to what I went to the Doctors about in the first place.

You went for cramping sensations in your abdomen didn't you? And kidney stones might have been a possibility? The decompression comment relates to what can be seen in the stomach and colon in terms of gas and solid matter - but no obstruction. No mention of kidney stomes either, What they DON'T find is often as significant as what they DO find.
