Can you get to Chertsey to see Rod Hughes? He also sees patients at a hospital south of the M25 close to the M3 but I can’t remember what it is called. If you look up Professor Rod Hughes you will find him and his secretary Jodie should be able to offer you an appointment without too much of a wait.

I also have this number 02070313403 which was supplied by a patient
I'm fairly sure there is/was a rheumatologist in the Sussex Uni Hospitals Trust who goes locally as Dr Sam because his name is unpronounceable! Hence why I cannot remember it ... He had a tremendous reputation in PMR. He may have moved of course.
Thank you. Do you think you might be able to find it for me please
I have looked online but with no success. I was hoping it might jog someone's memory!
Just had a brainwave - the newspapers had it!!!

Thank you. He’s in East Sussex
I’m in west sussex
Mr Menon in Chichester has a good understanding of taking steroids as he's had to take them himself. I haven't seen him myself but know others who have. I have been well treated by most of his team .
Your GP usually does that, a simple blood test. Then prednisolone if your inflammation markers are high. If it is pmr the pred is the only thing to ease the pain and that is the final diagnosis
I'm not an expert on blood tests but that is how most of us are diagnosed. If your pain is on one side only, it is unlikely to be pmr. I suggest you see your GP for a proper diagnosis.
Good luck in sorting this out.
Have you asked your GP, as you need to stay local? They should know their local Rheumatologists.
hi. I’ve heard good things about Dr Memon in Chichester and Dr Hepburn in Worthing. Good luck
Hi, Dr Hajela used to be my rheumatologist for many years until he went private. You’ll find him and many excellent reviews on Top Doctor. You can see him privately in Haywards Heath, right next to the train station. He’s a lovely, gentle man, however, he is unlikely to diagnosis PMR under about the age of 55, and definitely won’t diagnose before that age.
I’m 71. But haywards heath is too far away from me . But thank you
