I have developed a mysterious sore foot. The pad of my foot feels very tender, toes a bit numb…with no apparent reason. I am into my third year of pmr, down to 2.75 mg of pred. Is there a connection between feet and insufficient prednisone?

Some foot problems that are unrelated to PMR or arthritis can cause these symptoms. For example I have something called Morton’s foot does just that and I have to wear special insoles. Pred didn’t help. Really, you need a podiatrist or someone qualified to check what’s going on. Here’s a link for Morton’s foot so you can see what I mean.
If your feet have been a problem related to your PMR in the past, possibly if you get to a dose of pred that is now too low to manage your inflammation. However - more exact details of where the pain is would be helpful. Does this fit anything

And a plea - please don't use your name as the title of your post, The title is to give an indication of what the topic/question is - not everyone reads every post but may look at one where they have had something similar.
Now they appear to have sorted Related Posts, there are now links to other posts about foot pain so have a look at them too.
Thank you…Sorry about the title etc. I have read the Mayo clinic link…thank you. I think I have to accept that the pred. dose is too low, so I will deal with that side of it. Depressing. I have also been diagnosed with leukaemia and wonder if there’s a connection with pmr or if it is just a random mutation. Still in beginning stages of figuring out treatment. Depressing again!!Positive thoughts and hugs to everyone struggling.
Sorry to hear that - but I think it is random bad luck rather than a link to PMR. At one time it was thought there might be a link in the first few months after diagnosis but it is probably due to PMR symptoms being due to an underlying malignancy and to the closer monitoring most patients receive initially so things are picked up as a result.
All the best - hope the treatment planning goes smoothly.
Some types of leukaemia can cause problems with the nerves in the hands and feet due to proteins being deposited on the nerves. So you could experience numbness, tingling or soreness. I only know this because someone close to me has leukaemia and they are having the same.
Also I am supposing that you are not diabetic, as you would then likely know that this can affect the nerves in feet?
Personally, I would mention this to your doctor, as there are a number of causes for numbness in the extremities, especially if it is something new. It's always a good idea to rule out anything that may need treatment.
I know that I have had some problems with my feet with PMR, but I am sure it is related to my altered posture and gait, because my PMR is predominantly in my hip and thigh area. Though that doesn't sound like what you are having, from what you have said.
