Prednisolone dose

I have been reduced from 10 to 9 by my rheumatologist going down to 8 after two weeks so will see what happens ! I am also on methotrexate though??

As you say, you’ll have to see what happens… but most on here would say 2 weeks at any dose dose is not long enough to know it’s sufficient before you drop down - even with MTX.

Even with MTX it is too fast. They have this very touching confidence about the ability of MTX to reduce the need for pred - but reality and experience rarely bears it out.

I am creeping down in ¼ mg doses. Handy little pill cutter from Amazon gives you ½ mg from a 1mg tablet, or you can cut a 5mg into quarters to get 1 ¼ mg, then do the maths.

I would take it slower and in lesser amounts. I was advised in the early days to come down quicker and in 1mg amounts. This was before I found this group.I ended up back to square one quite soon, definitely listen to the advice given on here, tried and tested experience.
