I am currently on DL taper 8 to 7. Yesterday had really bad temporal pain on left side which would not ease with paracetamol. I upped the prednisolone to 20mg as I was really worried and have taken 20mg again this morning. Would I be able to do this for 5 days and then drop back to 7mg. I have a wedding on Saturday and wonder if I am a bit stressed about it.
Would appreciate any help please.
Usual advice for a flare is to up by 5mg for 7-10 days. As you’ve gone up to 20mg then 5 days should probably sort it out, but I’d be inclined to go down to 8mg not 7mg.
Plus from now on a reduction of 0.5mg at a time as well as the slow taper would be advisable -for your illness and adrenals.
With all that you have been through in last 6 months, there really is no rush.

Yes it has thankyou. I was told on my last Rheumatologist appointment in October that the GCA had burnt itself out. Obviously not!Your reply is much appreciated and your good wishes for Saturday. I can assure you I will not be dancing on the tables!!
