when I decrease dose 0.5 approx every 6 weeks. For first two weeks I take paracetamol to keep the wolf from the door as I get random pains not terrible like when I got poly but to help make decrease easier then my body settles for next decrease.

Sounds very sensible. Also taking the reductions slowly but surely is a good idea.

We do often suggest paracetamol as a way of distinguishing between signs of a flare and "just" steroid withdrawal.

Thank you so much for this suggestion. I am currently not feeling good after tapering to 5mg and to know that you have the same experience and are managing it and hopefully coming out the other side is really encouraging.
