Resuming tapering after a sick day week

Hello, and thank you for your advice.

I am nearly at the end of a week on antibiotics for cellulitis during which I increased pred from 3mg to 8. The PMR has been quiet all that time.

My question is, a week ago I was about to start a slow taper from 3 to 2.5. Assuming I return to 3mg tomorrow with no return of symptoms or the cellulitis, how long do you think I should stay at that level before resuming the taper? Would it be rash to try one week on 3, then one dose of 2.5, etc.? I have used the go-slow schedule successfully before. Thank you

I’d stick at 3mg for a couple of weeks just to make sure all okay before you restart taper… what’s a week or two in the great scheme of things?

If it were me, I'd be no hurry to reduce any further for a few weeks- make sure your cellulitis is fully sorted and no longer a problem. 3mg is a low dose anyway so there really isn't any hurry.
