Dizziness

woke up this morning feeling dizzy. Is this a side effect or something else. I'm on 5.5 mg pred have had PMR for 2 years.

As DL says, some more detail is needed if you can; dizziness can be horrible. Is it there all the time? What makes it worse eg. Standing up, moving, bending over, when you exert yourself, for example. Did it start suddenly? Any other symptoms with it? Des anything make it easier?

I experienced dizziness on a number of occasions when on lower doses of pred. I put it down to adrenals. It did happen much less frequently when I got down to about 1 mg.

I had an episode of BPPV last weekend. It was horrible and the Epley manoeuvre didn't work. However it only lasted a couple of days. I never thought it could be connected to the adrenals, though I'm on 1.5mg pred, so unlikely, plus I've had it before, years before I started PMR. The spinning and eye flicking made me feel really sick and the best thing I did last weekend was lie on the bed on my good side and doze for a couple of hours.

It's worth a Google if you want to try the Epley manoeuvre, it's all over the Internet. Or you could go to a physio for it.
