Your rights as a patient of the NHS

I’m sure that most people are aware of their rights as an NHS patient but feel it will do no harm to post this as a reminder. We are more than familiar with the constraints on the NHS and the burden of overwork but these should not prohibit expression of worrying health concerns and the seeking of help or advice when needed. We owe it to ourselves.

“A stitch in time saves nine.”…figuratively and quite possibly literally 🙂.

The NHS Constitution stuff refers to NHS England only, not rest of UK (Scotland, Wales, NI)

The basics rights are similar - but choices in Scotland are different, For example, in England you can be referred to any consultant/hospital of your choice if you are willing to travel. That wasn't the case in Scotland in the past at least.
