Prednisone-2 week jump and back to 1-2mg over what you were taking.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. One more question. Should I taper in 1/2mg from my temporary 8mg or can I just drop from 8mg to 5mg. I was taking 3mg which caused me to jump to 8mg because of all the pain and fatigue. I have been taking the jump of 8mg for 9 days. Should I wait until I hit 14 days or does it make a difference?

Thank you all!

You can reduce any time up to 14 days if you feel OK.

You might want to consider stepping down over a couple or three days - not a taper as such, just a bit slower than overnight.

You can drop down in one step.. or 2 with a few days inbetween as suggested if you feel a bit uncertain… but it’s not usually necessary- and I usually suggest 10-14 days on higher dose.. just make sure whatever you decide it’s long enough.
