Heavy cold and avfall

After a busy Christmas with grandchildren age 8 and 6 and long drives to Hampshire from home in North Yorkshire to see them I've succumbed to a really heavy cold on top of which I fell earlier and have badly bruised my calf and hip. I'm currently on 3mg pred + 10mg methotrexate. I've decided not to take the Methotrexate till I feel better and will up the pred by 5mg from tomorrow for a few days. Does this sound sensible or am I being over cautious?Happy new year to you all

Sounds sensible to me….and hope you soon better. But do make sure you stay on the increased dose long enough… so 7-10 days rather than just a few!

Thank you, I'll stay on the increased dose for at least a week and see how I feel

I think I would do something similar to be honest. What bad luck!

Where do you live in North Yorkshire? I’m also in same county.

In Stokesley, just south of Middlesbrough

My daughter in law’s mum lives in Stokesley - Virginia Davy

Small world although Stokesley isn't that big. I know Virginia and your daughter will probably know my daughter Helen through swimming club.

Small world indeed! I’ll ask Katharine about your daughter when I bet see her - tomorrow in fact!

Sounds OK to me - and my usual question: could it be Covid? And don't forget, a fall can trigger a flare. Be honest - don't be in denial about it.

Covid test this morning was negative though I will test again if I don't improve. Thanks for the warning about the fall triggering a flare,

I had a what I thought was a heavy cold the Thursday before Christmas and tested several times but all negative until Friday last week and then positive for covid which still feels like a heavy cold today

Thank you that sounds very similar to my sister in law who said her heavy cold had turned into covid. I will test again especially if I'm meeting up with anyone

Yep my Covid was just like a heavy cold. I think many heavy colds are turning out to be Covid
