Covid vaccine during tapering down PMR?

Thanks so much for the valuable responses, which I am studying ongoing,to my previous posts.

I was dubious about the Covid vaccine possibly bringing back my PMR symptoms. Having read the posts here I am largely reassured, but I would like to check for my own circumstances.

I have never had a problem with any vaccinations and in fact had Flu and Pneumonia on 20th October 2023 without any s/e.

Recently, I had a 3rd Covid vaccs on 4th Jan 2022, then contracted the Covid infection on 6th June 2022, then another vaccs on 6th Oct 2022.

My PMR symptoms began about 2nd Jan 2023.

I might add I have been under a fair amount of ongoing stress during the whole of this period.

The question is: Is it reasonably safe (wrt PMR symptoms) for me to have a further Covid vaccs in the next months whilst I am slowly tapering down?

With that time lapse between the infection and vaccines before the PMR symptoms appeared it is unlikely they played a major role in it. If they had triggered it you would have noticed effects within a couple of weeks.

I had a bit of a reaction with the PMR to the second jab, a Moderna one, but it was mainly fatigue and I was under a lot of stress at the time anyway caring for a very unwell husband. None of the others have affected the PMR.

I don't think there is a definitive answer - there's always a slight risk with any vaccine. For the record, since having PMR and GCA, I have been vaccinated against Covid 7 or 8 times, flu 4 times, pneumococcal disease, and now shingles. All with no more problems than people usually have with vaccines.
