it is a miserable cold day today and to me feels damp, though the humidity is only 66%. I feel rheumaticy. My pelvis and shoulders ache, but am confused as how can it feel s achingly damp with low humidity? We have had it in the 80s and 90s last summer. I also have MS and am trying to sort out which is which before I see my GP again, Thanks, Jane

Flare humidity
By my standards 66% is high humidity! It affects my PMR and when it is even higher, it is worse. It isn't just the humidity though - the whole weather pattern can contribute. But pelvis and shoulder aches are very much part of PMR and maybe you are having a bit of a flare for some reason too?
Change of season? My husband says we are low humidity and turned off the dehumidifiers, so thanks. Jane
I wouldn't know about dehumidifiers - even if it is 90% humidity outside, no aircon of any sort here! And they are the exception in the UK where I imagine the humidity is highish most of the time given the climate.
It just occured to me to look it up and found this
weather.gov/arx/why_dewpoin...
iaq.works/humidity/indoor-h...
science.howstuffworks.com/n...
where they say equal to or above 65% humidity is considered high. Under 50% is low, But that is all more linked to skin comfort and relates to temperature.
Thanks so much. That is really interesting. We are in Ontario and last summer we had good dehumidifiers running in the house and I got through it well, As soon as my husband tuned them off, without my knowing, I developed rheumatic symptoms although by then the humidity outside was down to 60-70%.
