Been on 1/2 for 3 days with no ill effects. Have lots of energy. Seem to have lost the need for prednisone. Still on Methotrexate 12.5 weekly and daily hydroxychloroquine. My glucose levels are back to what they were before PMR. Question is can I reduce Meth? At some point likely won't need any. At 12.5mg , I don't notice any side effects. Will see Rheumatologist in early November.

No advice on reducing meth but seems to me you would want to reduce slowly, no matter what the ongoing med is.

No answer to that and something to discuss with the doctor. Many like to get you off pred first and then taper the MTX if that is their intention. Some keep you on it. You probably need to taper the MTX - you have no idea how much effect that is having on the PMR. It does work well for some patients but the PMR could just as well have burnt out all on its own.

so far so good. Not even feeling stiff this am before taking my next 1/2 mg dose.
