Do we get the one prescribed for those with a weakened immune system? Thanks so much.

Interesting. In Canada I can't find any reference to a different strength of covid vaccine for over 65s or immune-compromised, although there is of course one for influenza (limited access where I live). All I've heard in Canada is they aren't calling it a booster because it's now targeting Omicron variants, and the original Wuhan strain is not even in the current vaccines. All adults will be eligible. In the past of course they've provided additional boosters to the elderly and a short list of immune-compromised conditions and I assume this will continue. Not sure if there's still a required waiting period if you've had covid within a certain period of time. This would of course eliminate a lot of people from being able to get vaccinated in a timely fashion because they've been letting 'er rip for well over a year and there's a highly infected population. Obviously "hybrid immunity" is nonsense or people would stop getting sick. I'm keeping fingers crossed for Novavax availability as the buzz is its level of immunity is significantly longer-lasting than the mRNA vaccines.

I have it wrong it is the flu jab that is for under 65 and over 65 and Covid jab seems to be the same for all called for it

Great! I was on the verge of thinking we were missing out on something here! Well, in a way we are; there's no sign of vaccine rollout and so far I think only Moderna has been approved. Health Canada has to wait for request for approval from the companies involved.

I find it concerning that so far there doesn't seem to be anything updated for children under 12. Covid damages children too, and then there's that weird insistence everwhere now that parents should send their sick children to school. No doubt the not-so-distant-future will see a rather large proportion of humans joining the ranks of the immune-damaged. 😢

"Not sure if there's still a required waiting period if you've had covid within a certain period of time"

I read 4 weeks post Covid on one of the UK pages yesterday - I quoted the BBC site article yesterday - very comprehensive.

At least last year in NS it was an eight-week delay after an infection.

That’s something you’ll need to check with whoever is administering the vaccine - GP or hub…

latest info from HMG-

Vaccines being offered this season

You will be given a vaccine made by Pfizer, Sanofi or Moderna.

The vaccines are updated forms of the vaccines used in previous campaigns and produce slightly higher levels of antibody against some strains of Omicron.

As we cannot predict which variants of COVID-19 will be circulating this winter, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have concluded that any of these updated vaccines can all be used in adults.

For a very small number of people, another vaccine product may be advised by your doctor.

Please accept the vaccination that is offered to you as soon as you are able to – it is important to have your vaccine to build up your protection against severe illness before the winter.

I think from reading there is an under 65s vaccine and an over 65s vaccine. Just realised that is for the flu jab and the Covid seems to be the same for all

As I said - there is one fr specific groups
