Stopping pred

I have stopped taking pred for a week now. No pain or stiffness so far. How long does it take for it to leave the body. What might I expect to happen . Thanks for all the help I have had from everyone here .I don't post much but read all the posts every day 😃. Without them I couldn't have coped

There will be no Pred in your blood after a day. If your PMR has gone into remission you should have no problems. If PMR is not in remission, it can take a while for the inflammation to build up again which could be a few days to a few months depending on how active it is.

All the pred is out of your body inside 24 hours and the antiinflammatory effect lasts up to 36 hour in some but less in others.

Sometimes it takes months for tiny bits of inflammation due to low disease activity to build up far enough to cause symptoms/

Yes lotsa luck in your quest in stopping prednisone, I wish you well.Like you I rarely post but tune in daily to this forum and learn so much, it truly is a most valuable tool from what I consider to be experts.
