Can anyone tell me the difference between Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Myositis, please?Apparently I have been diagnosed with the latter, after almost three years of PMR. Waiting to hear more details.

Quite difficult to tell apart but the primary difference is that in myositis the muscle enzyme CK is raised whereas in PMR it isn't. In addition, there are clear changes in the muscle with myositis if a biopsy is taken and looked under a microsope.

They are both treated with steroids.
