It stands for Dead Slow Nearly Stop and is a way of slowly reducing your dosage without major assault to your body if doing it more drastically. There are several modules which I would expect you can find in the FAQ's. But an example would be taking your old dose on day 1 and 2, your reduced dose on day 3, your old dose on day 4 and 5, reduced on day 6 and old on day 7. That's probably not the exact system but hopefully you get the idea. Then the following week you add an additional new lower dose to one of the days etc etc. There are examples of 5 weeks and longer depending on how slowly you want to go. Hope that makes sense. Others will be far better at explaining than me.

As described by   Sophiestree there are various tapering plans - the DSNS (attributed to PMRpro and based on one devised by a Swedish gentleman named Ragnar) is described on a daily basis - whereas mine (DL Simple Taper Plans) is weekly based - and comes in 3 versions, 5,7 and 14 weeks). There are other versions on the charity’s webpage.

But hopefully whichever one is used the end result is success.

in the past years I have used a similaf DSNS process, and having to start all over again since DEC,rhemy thought I had GCA symptons, but ultrasound negative, I am down to 9 mgs, from 40 and have stayed at 9 for last at least 3 weeks, I am going to a clinIc for norn invasive spinal decompression therapy, as have had L2 nerve root impingement since 2nd week of May, had to committ to 20 sessions, still have about 4-5 left, definitely some improvement in pain of front thigh, but still there, numbness, some tingling, anyway, wondering if I could now start to taper some more, down to 8 mgs, on the DSNS method, really would like to get down again, was at 4 mgs, last Nov, before experiencing GCA like symptons,

Might be worth a try if you really feel okay - but I’d be inclined to hang on until sessions are completed as body is still under stress. How much longer will it be?
